
About 39.5 percent of the 4,746 degrees and certificates handed out by Arkansas State University-Main Campus in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Jonesboro conferred 1130 master's degrees and 559 certificates in education programs.
But the single most popular program was for a certificate in elementary and middle school administration/principalship. Data shows the school gave out 492 certificates in elementary and middle school administration/principalship, followed by 457 master's degrees in elementary and middle school administration/principalship and 390 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.
The university enrolled 13,930 students for 2017-18, including 9,604 in undergraduate programs and 4,326 in graduate programs.
